Questions about delivery and moving in
Blauwe Loper.
The move-in period for Haven is from Aug. 5 until Aug. 25. NOTE: For Pollux, the period is August 12 until 25. To structure the move-in period, we work with time slots to be reserved.
The chosen time slot is also the start date of your rental agreement. During a time slot (08.30 - 13.30 or 13.00 - 18.00) you pick up your key and have the opportunity to move your belongings to your new home.
Haven will provide moving materials to support and expedite the move. From June 20 to June 28 at 5 p.m., you can choose a time slot. On June 20, you will receive an email from us with a link. If you do not choose a time slot, a time slot will be assigned (this is also the date your contract takes effect!)
This is possible, but keep in mind that you cannot use the elevator for large furniture outside the time slot. You park your car on the public road or parking lot on the TU/e grounds. In addition, there are 735 (and more) other new residents who are also moving. Please be considerate of each other and try to move in your time slot as much as possible, as you will have the space and support to do so.
There are 7 timeslots per morning/ afternoon for Castor, 2 timeslots per morning/ afternoon for Terra and 12 timeslots per morning/ afternoon for Pollux. These timeslots are for unfurnished accommodations only. On top of that we have 15 timeslots per morning/ afternoon for furnished accommodations.
Only one car (with a trailer) or a van will be granted on the temporary parking spaces during your booked timeslot. On the TU/e terrain you are free to park as many cars as you like.
To make the turnaround time on site as smooth as possible, our advice is to have your packages delivered to your home and take them to your home during your time slot. This is because vendors do not have on-site parking and your package must be delivered from the public road.
To get to the entrance of the TU/e site you can use the entrance at the Insulindelaan/ De Zaale by using the address ‘De Zaale’. From there, temporary signage will guide you to the general Parking. Please note that in the first two weeks of the moving in period the main entrance from the TU/e site will be closed for cars due to ‘Park Hilaria’. So, always use the entrance at the Insulindelaand/ De Zaale.
When moving large furniture, keep in mind the size of the elevator. When moving large furniture, keep in mind the size of the elevator. Wooden wall plates have been installed in the elevators for protection. As a result, the elevators are temporarily smaller than normal. The dimensions are: 2.18m (D), 2.09 (H), 94cm (W). The entrance of the elevator is 85cm wide.
Yes. You can use the elevator to move in furniture after the 25th of August.
All living units (rooms, studios and apartments) come with curtains.
You can enter the house straight away and you don't have to do any DIY. It is not allowed to paint the concrete walls in the accommodation. A picture skirting board has been installed to hang something on the wall. Drilling into the walls yourself to hang something is not permitted.
Questions about moving facilities
When you enter the premises via Insulindelaan, you can park your car on the right-hand side. You will then pick up your keys at The Haven Office (low-rise, Terra) where a number of functions from Woonbedrijf/Vestide are present: project coordinators, rental consultants, housing consultants, neighborhood managers and the hostess.
There is also an outlet for moving materials where you can borrow, for example, rolling containers and moving blankets.
To regulate traffic properly, traffic controllers are also present.
In the two high-rise buildings there are elevator attendants on the first floor to guide the flow. Floor attendants are present for every 3 floors to check for orderliness and cleanliness.
Roll containers, blankets and ‘verhuishondjes’ (basically a wooden plank with wheels to move furniture) will be provided. We facilitate you to move in as efficiently and smooth as possible (from arriving on site until getting your belongings in your accommodation). We do not help you moving in by carrying boxes/ furniture for example.
If you are moving into furnished housing, you may use moving equipment and the elevator for passenger transportation.
It is not possible to use the temporary parking spaces near the building. These are only for residents moving to unfurnished housing. You can use the regular parking spots on the TU/e grounds.
When moving large furniture, keep in mind the size of the elevator. The dimensions of the elevators are (L)2.1mx(W)1.1x(H)2.3.
Yes. You can use the elevator to move in furniture after the 25th of August.
Questions about key issuance
The move-in period for Haven is from Aug. 5 until Aug. 25. NOTE: For Pollux, the period is August 12 until 25. To structure the move-in period, we work with time slots to be reserved.
The chosen time slot is also the start date of your rental agreement. During a time slot (08.30 - 13.30 or 13.00 - 18.00) you pick up your key and have the opportunity to move your belongings to your new home.

If you do not choose a time slot, a time slot will be assigned (this is also the date your contract takes effect!)
As we want to make the check-in process as fast as possible, we would like to ask you to already transfer the first rental invoice yourself. This way we can already prepare as much as possible for your arrival (You can find all the details for making the payment in the e-mail with your tenancy agreement).
We request you to transfer the first rent invoice to our account number: NL90INGB0003408435 in the name of Stichting Woonbedrijf SWS.Hhvl stating your client and contract number. You can find these numbers at the top of your tenancy agreement.
Cash payments are not possible. You can possibly offer cash via GWK Travelex (they have an office at the Central trainstation) and have them transfer your payment.
You pick up your key in the Haven office in the low-rise building (Terra) during your time slot. You can read more about this in the newsletter.
Only come to collect your keys during the chosen time slot. And bring an ID card/passport or driving licence so we can check your identity. It's also nice if you can access your banking app on site, should we still need to check your payment.
If you are moving later than August 25 then you choose the timeslot on August 26. Time slots for moves after August 25 are fictitious, as we only need to know that you are moving after the 25th. For example: if you want to move on September 10, you also choose a timeslot on August 26. This is also the start date of your lease.
Note: from August 26, the process goes through the regular route. You will pick up the keys at our office (Wal 2) and there will no longer be on-site support facilities.
Yes, that's possible. Email the name and date of birth to haven@vestide.nl. The authorized person must bring proof of identity when picking up the key.
But you can also pick up the keys yourself after August 26 at the Woonbedrijf and Vestide offices. Address: Wal 2, 5611 GG Eindhoven.
Studios and rooms receive one tag. Apartments get two tags. In addition, you can download a digital app. This is the spare key. You will receive the instructions for installing the app with your rental agreement.
In three weeks, 735 and more new residents will be moving into their homes. To make this as structured and smooth as possible, we create a spread over this period with the time slots. As a result, we avoid large crowds at the site, parking lots and bottlenecks at the elevators. And you have more time to get to know each other! 😊
Questions about the contract
We agree on a campus contract. That means you can continue to live in your room/studio/apartment for the time you are studying full-time on the TUe campus.
You send back the whole file containing your first rental invoice and your rental agreement. In that file you have to sign the Dutch version of the rental agreement and you can fill in and sign a form for the desired payment method. You may send this entire file back to us and this may be in 1 file.
If you have been given a tenancy habilitation document, you must also sign and return this to us.
If you have received a letter of consent for a resident, please sign it and return it to us.
Please send all the mentioned documents preferably in 1 e-mail.
Only after all matching events have taken place we can start making the rental agreements. We expect to start in July.
You will receive your rental agreement before you get the key. Check it carefully, and return it signed by the specified deadline. Your lease will take effect on the move-in date.
The date of the time slot you choose to move in will also be the start date of your rental agreement. There are limited places available per day. The time slots will be made available after all matching events have taken place.
If you are a minor, you should sign it yourself and have a parent/guardian sign it too. If you have been asked to sign several documents, this applies to all the documents you have to sign. Your parent/guardian does not have to be present when you collect your key.
From this moment you have entered into an official agreement and the arrangements we have included in the agreement will apply. If you want to cancel your residence in Haven, you can do so via our website, but you always have one month's notice. It is also worth bearing in mind that from the moment you sign the rental agreement, your registration time will be reset and go back to 0 days. This reduces your chances of finding another house via Vestide.
The deposit is 250 euros. When the rental contract is sent for signature, it includes a rental invoice, which includes the deposit. This invoice must be paid before the keys are issued (or the digital lock is opened). This can also be paid by pin on the day itself.
Residents of Haven rent the accommodation with a campus contract. This means that you do not have a fixed end date in your contract. You can continue to live as long as you are still studying full-time or are a PhD/PDeng at the TUe campus. When you have finished studying or are no longer a PhD/PDeng, you must leave the accommodation.
We cannot offer a solution for the interim period.
From the moment you sign the rental agreement, your registration time will be reset and go back to 0 days. However, you will immediately start building up new registration time again, you do not have to do anything.
If you already live in Haven and a living space becomes available, you will be given priority over other students coming from outside Haven. You can then move from a room to a studio or apartment, or from a studio to an apartment. To do so, you must respond to the advertisement on vestide.nl.
Questions about rent allowance and rent habilitation
You can apply for rent allowance if your rent does not exceed € 879.66 (price level 2024). Your income is also taken into account. Are you between 18 and 23 years old? Then your rent may not exceed € 454.47.
PLEASE NOTE: housing allowance is not only based on the rent. Your personal situation also plays a role in this. Visit https://www.government.nl/topics/housing/rented-housing/applying-for-housing-benefit for more information. Here you can also make a test calculation.
If you are under 23 years old, different rent allowance limits apply than if you are over 23 years old. To ensure that the rent is appropriate so that it is possible to apply for housing allowance, we temporarily reduce the basic rent. When you turn 23, we will adjust the rent back to the normal rent. You will then still have the option to receive housing allowance. We only do this at the studios.
We use September 1, 2024 as the reference date to calculate your age for this.
In order to process the rent habilitation, we had to do this from another system. We had to process the rent familiarisation before we could create your rental agreement with the correct (rental) prices. If you have not yet received the rental agreement, you will receive it within a few days.

For the next month’s payment, you can opt for direct debit or acceptance e-mail. The rent must be paid before the 1st of the month. If you choose direct debit, the collection will take place a few days before the 1st of the month.

Questions about living rules
It is allowed in a studio or apartment, but must be requested and not a nuisance.
Questions about the community app
There is an Area of People platform for communication between residents. Here you can send messages to each other and create a calendar of events.
The Area of People app will be used by the entire community within Haven as a fully functioning application for residents.
The Area of People app will not be used as the main contact channel for residents; existing services such as the Woonbedrijf website, email, phone, etc. will remain the main communication channels for getting in touch with Woonbedrijf / Vestide for service and/or repair requests.
Questions about internet and heating
There is an internet connection in your own accommodation.
There is underfloor heating. There is also a radiator (electric design radiator) in the bathroom. You pay a monthly advance for energy costs. This is part of the service costs that you pay monthly.
Every tenant receives the same package for €17.28 per month. For example, you cannot choose just the internet. The package is also included in the service charge statement every year.
Questions about laundry and cleaning facilities
There is no connection for your own washing machine in the different types of homes. You can do your laundry in the shared washing machines and dryers in Castor (first floor) and Pollux (ground floor). This is for a small fee (€3,-) per wash.
In low-rise Terra, groups can install their own washer and dryer.
Alleen de gangen en grote gemeenschappelijke ruimtes worden schoongehouden; jouw eigen woonruimte niet.
Questions about parking
Bikes can be parked in the shared bike basements. Bike racks are not numbered.
In the bike shed there is only room to park your bike, scooters cannot be parked there. There are a number of points where you can charge an electric bike. The electricity consumption for this runs through a separate meter. How this should be charged has not yet been arranged.
There is no parking garage for cars. Cars must be parked outside in the designated parking spaces on the TU/e campus. That is paid parking which you must apply for through the TU/e: read more about the TU/e parking regulations.
Questions about the matching event
At the matching event you get to know your future neighbors and/or roommates.
The goal is for you to find a nice group to become neighbors or roommates with. Your answers to the questionnaire when you register via the advertisement are used as a starting point for the matching process.
A matching night is a fun evening where you get to know your future neighbors. However, it is not mandatory. If you are not available, you can join the online matching evening, or else if that day is also not convenient for you, you can watch the recording of the online matching evening in your own time.
60 = Castor (west), 66 = Pollux (east), 61-65 = Terra.
For example: 60-11-07 = Castor (west), 11th floor, living space number 7.
The number in the middle is the floor at the high-rise, at the low-rise it is the house.
All students were classified based on what they filled out in the questionnaire when responding to their housing. This took into account whether you indicated you wanted to live with certain friends, whether you wanted to live in high-rise or low-rise buildings, and your preferences for living in a community. Unfortunately, however, we could not take everyone's preferences into account.

Before the matching event, everyone assigned to this night will receive an e-mail with the assignment of your house number and a form to formally accept your house number. You must complete this form no later than two days after the matching event; so for the June 17 matching night, that will be June 19.
You can fill out the form using your cell phone. Signing your reservation contract indicates your intention to live in Haven. However, it does not obligate you to sign your lease.
There is no opportunity to view the living space, but there are videos showing the living spaces. Measuring the living space is also not possible, all living spaces are already floored.
Discover Haven
Haven includes 735 student houses, studios and apartments divided between the towers Castor and Pollux and low-rise Terra. In each building, there are several common areas accessible to all residents. Furthermore, there are regular community events to get to know your neighbors. The committees within Haven organize themselves all kinds of things involved in community living. From the start of the project, Vestide has worked in co-creation with students.
