What to do with the lease?
When someone dies, their lease is not automatically stopped. Several situations can occur.
Death of the main tenant, another resident present
The heirs, often the student's parents, can cancel the lease. The notice period is one month. You cancel the lease using the contact form. Click on the subject ‘Notification of death’ and attach the death certificate.
Death of the main tenant, with a co-tenant

Death of main tenant, other resident present
The resident cannot take over the lease from the deceased main tenant. The heirs, often the student's parents, can cancel the lease. The notice period is one month.
