Terminate furnished accommodation

How do you terminate when you rent a furnished accommodation?

NOTICE OF TERMINATION FURNISHED HOUSE

If you are an exchange student, you cannot terminate your tenancy through Vestide. To do so, please contact your educational institution.

If you are not an exchange student, read on for more information.

NOTICE PERIOD: MINIMUM OF ONE MONTH

The one-month notice period begins on the day you submit your notice through the website. The end date can only fall on a working day, never a weekend or public holiday.

INITIAL INSPECTION AND FINAL INSPECTION

After you give notice, we schedule two inspections: an initial and a final inspection. The date and time of the initial inspection are stated in the letter confirming your termination of tenancy.

INITIAL INSPECTION

Shortly after you give notice, the property manager will visit you for the initial inspection. You will receive an inspection report afterwards. The report lists anything you still need to do to leave the property clean and in good repair, as well as the costs involved if you fail to do so.

FINAL INSPECTION

On the last day of your tenancy, we will check that you have completed everything on the list and handed in the keys. You will not attend the final inspection. You will receive a final inspection report after the final inspection.

Inventory TakeoverInventory takeovers are not possible if you are renting furnished accommodation.

FINAL SETTLEMENT

This is the final calculation of everything you still have to pay or will be refunded. After you move, you may receive two more settlements:

1. About two weeks after you move, you will receive the final settlement, which covers things like over or underpaid rent or the cost of repairs you did not complete.

2. We send the service charge settlement once a year, around July, so you will not receive it immediately after your move.
