How do you cancel your rent when you have an non-furnished acccommodation?

NOTICE OF TERMINATION

It only takes a few minutes to give notice of termination of your tenancy.

NOTICE PERIOD: MINIMUM OF ONE MONTH

The one-month notice period begins on the day you submit your notice through our website. The end date can only fall on a working day, never a weekend or public holiday.

INITIAL INSPECTION AND FINAL INSPECTION

After you give notice, we schedule two inspections: an initial and a final inspection. The date and time of the initial inspection are stated in the letter confirming your termination of tenancy.

INITIAL INSPECTION

Shortly after you give notice, the property manager will visit you for the initial inspection. You will receive an inspection report afterwards. The report lists anything you still need to do to leave the property clean and in good repair, as well as the costs involved if you fail to do so. Together with the property manager, you will go over any inventory you want to leave for the next tenant.

FINAL INSPECTION

On the last day of your tenancy, we will check that you have completed everything on the list and handed in the keys. You will not attend the final inspection. You will receive a final inspection report after the final inspection.

INVENTORY TAKEOVER

If you are leaving any inventory for the new tenant and have agreed to share your information and a new tenant has been found for your residence before the end of your contract, you can discuss inventory takeover among yourselves. The initial inspection report includes an inventory takeover form that you must complete together. Return the form to Vestide before the end of your contract.

NO NEW TENANT FOUND

If a new tenant has not been found three days before the end date, you must remove the inventory from the property. Floor and window coverings may be left behind if the property manager has indicated that they are still usable at the time of the initial inspection.

FINAL SETTLEMENT

This is the final calculation of everything you still have to pay or will be refunded. After you move, you may receive two more settlements:

1. About four weeks after you move, you will receive the final settlement, which covers things like over or underpaid rent or the cost of any repairs you did not complete.

2. We send the service charge settlement once a year, around July, so you will not receive it immediately after your move.
