Always submit all required documents at the same time via email when responding to a housing offer or after a group viewing. Incomplete or incorrect documents will result in rejection. Make sure you have everything ready before you respond.
1. Proof of Enrollment
Required for all students.
Lease start date before 1 September → proof for the current academic year.
Lease start date on or after 1 September → proof for the new academic year.
Examples: 15 August 2026 → proof 2025–2026, 10 September 2026 → proof 2026–2027.
PhD or EngD students at Haven or Blauwe Loper should provide an appointment letter, employment contract, or employer statement instead of proof of enrollment.
2. Address in the Netherlands
Mandatory when using travel time bonus.
Take a screenshot of your address history via MijnOverheid. Make sure everything is visible in one print screen. Ensure the following information is clearly visible: initials, surname, date of birth (BSN obscured), address on the date of response, and the date of the screenshot. The address you provide when responding to an accommodation must exactly match the address on MijnOverheid.
3. Address outside the Netherlands
Mandatory when using travel time bonus.
Students who have previously lived in the Netherlands should follow the same instructions as above.
Students who have not lived in the Netherlands before must provide an official document from their municipality showing their initials, surname, date of birth, and the address on the date of response. The document must not be older than three months.
4. Furnished Housing at Blauwe Loper (Haven)
These properties are exclusively for international students. Submit the Confirmation Statement or Admission Letter from your educational institution.
Important:
All documents must be complete, accurate, up-to-date, and clearly legible. Blurry or incomplete screenshots will not be accepted. Always obscure your BSN. If documents are incomplete or unclear, your response will be rejected and the offer will be withdrawn.
