The government has made a scheme for residents with block connections. This scheme is intended for residents who have a joint connection for heating (block heating) and/or for electricity (block electricity). On this page we tell you more about this scheme.
How does the compensation for block connections work?
We offset the concession against the energy costs for 2023. Previously, from July last year, we reduced the advance payments in view of the scheme. Everything will be reflected in the final bill that you will receive in mid-2024. You don't have to do anything for this.
The scheme works as follows:
1. We add up all the energy costs incurred for your residential building.
2. From this we deduct the total allowance we received from the government for your residential building.
3. The remaining costs will be settled in the way we always divide your energy costs.
We follow the government rules that apply to this scheme.
Level of compensation
The amount of the compensation can differ per home; this is determined by the government. It depends on things like your own consumption, the number of square meters of your home or the period in which you rent or have rented in 2023. If the settlement period is different from January through December 2023, that may also come into play. But also the type of home you have: independent or non-independent. In an independent dwelling, you have your own kitchen, shower and toilet. You live in a non-self-contained dwelling if you live in rooms or in a housing group.
